Trade History Eraser – Cleaning the Slate in MetaTrader

Hello traders,

Autumn has arrived, and with it comes a shift in pace. Markets often feel different as summer ends—volatility picks up, new trends emerge, and traders look for fresh approaches. It is also a good time to reorganize our tools and habits, clearing away what no longer serves us and making space for new opportunities.

Trade History Eraser – Clearing Your Charts and Your Head

Sometimes the hardest part of trading is not the market itself, but the clutter left behind by our past trades. Old arrows, lines, and account records can make it difficult to focus on the setup in front of you. That is where the Trade History Eraser plug-in comes in.

Among the wide range of plug-ins developed for modern traders, the Trade History Eraser occupies a very particular niche. While most tools focus on risk management, position sizing, or account monitoring, this one deals with something far less technical but often just as important: the psychological effect of seeing past trades in your platform.

Every trader knows how distracting it can be to open a chart and see dozens of old arrows, markers, and trade lines crowding the screen. Even more so, reviewing the account history tab can sometimes bring back frustration or regret, which is not always helpful if you are trying to maintain focus on your current strategy. The Trade History Eraser plug-in was designed with this in mind. It allows you to selectively remove past trades from your MetaTrader account history and from the chart display.

How It Works

The plug-in integrates into your trading terminal and gives you control over which trades to erase. You may decide to clear all trades from a specific time period, or only remove selected positions you no longer want to see. Once executed, the terminal’s account history tab updates accordingly, and the chart becomes uncluttered. Importantly, this does not affect the broker’s record of your trades—it only changes what is visible on your side of the platform.

Why Traders Use It

The motivation behind using a history eraser varies:

  • Clarity of Analysis. Some traders want a clean chart to analyze fresh setups without the distraction of past entries and exits.

  • Psychological Reset. After a series of losses, clearing the slate can help reduce the emotional baggage and restore a neutral mindset.

  • Presentation. Traders who share screenshots or conduct training often prefer to present charts free of personal trade history.

Why Scammers Use It

But there is another side. Unscrupulous brokers also use similar tools to hide the true history of client accounts. By erasing or altering visible trades, they can make it appear as if losses never happened, or as if performance is better than reality. This practice is one of the classic tricks of scam brokers who want to lure new deposits or cover up poor execution.

That is why it is important to remember: while the Trade History Eraser can be a useful personal utility, transparency is key. Always keep your own export or journal of trades, and never rely solely on what you see in the terminal if your funds are with an untrusted broker.

Used responsibly, the plug-in is simply a way to create a fresh working space—something every trader can appreciate at the start of a new season.
