That is, operations can always be open without the stop out being triggered.

Yes. Once the maximum available margin is reached the broker will close or more of your positions. How they select which position to close is not clear in my T&C’s.

I don’t remember having this issue personally but I have had pending orders cancelled when an executed order triggered and reached the margin limit. On that occasion, all orders were cancelled, including those which even added together would not then have reached the margin limit, they just wiped the slate clean.
